Read before you fly

Every number, nothing hidden.

This page is generated from the same rules file the game runs on. If a number changes in the game, it changes here in the same deploy. We give 48 hours' notice on this page and on X before any change to the money.

1. The game

You get an island with a launch pad and a rocket made of six parts. Press Launch, then fly it: steer left and right, hold boost, dodge what's in the sky, grab stars and fuel cans. When your fuel runs out you coast to the top of the climb, and that height is your score. The week's best flight per island goes on the board. Every Monday at 00:00 UTC the week closes and the top ten split the prize pool in SOL.

Every pilot holds the coin. To open your island you link a wallet (a free signature) and buy your first part: any $1 tier-4 part in $MOONRUN, split like every purchase: 80% burned, 20% to the prize wallet. There are no guest islands: bots cost money, and the burn counter moves from the first player. Before the coin launches you can link your wallet and wait on the pad.

2. The parts

Six slots, eight tiers each. Tiers 1–3 cost credits earned by flying. Tiers 4–8 are premium and cost the coin ($1 to $200), priced in dollars and converted at the live price when you buy. Tiers 6, 7 and 8 also need island level 2, 3 and 4, which you earn at 10, 25 and 50 flights. All six parts at the same tier is a matched set: +6% thrust.

Hull is how many hits a flight survives. When it hits zero the engine is knocked out and you coast on whatever speed you had. Steering is the sideways push per second; a rocket whose engine is two or more tiers above its fins shakes and steers 40% worse.

3. A flight, by the numbers

Height in the game is counted in sky units and shown in kilometres on a log scale, so a 3 km hop and a moon shot both fit on one screen: km = 0.02 × (10^(h / 22) − 1). The moon is 384,400 km.

There's no luck roll. Two players with the same rocket on the same course who press the same buttons at the same ticks get exactly the same height.

    4. What's in the sky

Every flight gets its own course, laid out from a seed the server picks: a mix of hazards and pickups all the way up. The first stretch above the pad is pickups only, so you have a few seconds to get a feel for the controls.

Birds, planes and junk move sideways and bounce off the edges of the lane. A hit keeps 55% of your climb speed and costs one hull; you're untouchable for 0.8 seconds after it.

    5. Credits and goals

Goals pay once per island, the first time you do them:

      6. The money

      • Premium parts are paid in $MOONRUN. The server builds one transaction: 80% of the tokens are burned (destroyed on-chain, supply shrinks) and 20% go to the prize wallet. You sign it in your own wallet; we never hold your keys. Every burn is listed with its Solscan link.
      • Creator fees from pump.fun: 50% to the prize wallet, 50% to the dev for servers and the domain.
      • The prize wallet is a public wallet the dev controls. It's not "locked" and we don't call it that. Its address and balance are shown on the launch site once the coin is live.
      • Weekly prizes: at Monday 00:00 UTC the board freezes. 70% of the prize wallet's SOL goes to the ten furthest flights, split 30 / 20 / 12 / 9 / 7 / 6 / 5 / 4 / 4 / 3 %. 30% goes to every pilot who flew that week, by their share of the week's mission points (every flight earns 10 + 12 × log10(1 + km) points: 10 for a hop, 34 for 100 km, 76 for the moon). The dev builds the payout (one transaction per sixteen wallets), signs it, and posts the receipts here and on X, normally within 24 hours.
      • To collect, you must hold at least $10 of the coin in the wallet linked to your island when the week closes. Guests can play and rank, but a spot without a qualifying wallet is paid to the next qualifying island.
      • One island per wallet for prizes. If one wallet has linked several islands, only the first one counts.

      7. How we stop cheating

      • The browser never sends a score. It sends the list of buttons you pressed and on which tick. The server re-flies the whole flight with the same physics and sets the height itself. Edit your score in the page and the server ignores it.
      • The course is picked by the server before you fly, so you can't choose an easy sky.
      • A flight can't land before it could have been flown. Inputs sent faster than the flight takes are rejected, and a started flight expires after five minutes.
      • What a bot could still do: fly perfectly. Perfect flying is worth about 2–4× a hands-off flight with the same parts, and parts still set the ceiling. If we see bot patterns on the board, we'll say so here and they won't be paid.

      9. FAQ

Do I need a wallet to play?
Yes. A wallet and a $1 part bought in the coin open your island. That's the price of a seat, it's a real upgrade, and 80% of it is burned.
Does my island survive if I clear my browser?
Yes. Your island belongs to your wallet: link it again from any browser and you sign back in to the same island.
Can a rocket with only free parts win?
Yes, if nobody with premium parts flies better that week, and every flight earns mission points toward the 30% regardless. Realistically premium rockets fly higher; that's what pays the prize pool.
What happens to the 80% that's burned?
It's gone. The tokens are destroyed on-chain, so the total supply goes down with every premium purchase.
      Who holds the prize money?
The dev, in a public wallet. We show the address, the balance and every payout receipt. If that's not enough trust for you, play free and don't buy.
      Is this an investment?
No. It's a game with a coin attached. The coin can go to zero. Only play with what you'd spend on a game.
